Dear Average Boy,
I have a friend I would like to keep in touch with. I was hoping you might have some tips. In the summer we sometimes see each other at the library and we call each other on the phone, but that's all. I'm worried she might move away. So I'm hoping you can answer my question.

You see each other and talk on the phone? It sounds like you are doing a good job of keeping up with her. Phone and in person are the best ways. You may want to try sending her smoke signals. I tried that with Billy once, but he said it just looked like I was shouting. Plus the people who had to swerve their cars around the fire in the middle of my road seemed a bit annoyed. I guess some people don't know the importance of communication! But it sounds like you do. Keep calling and meeting her, and you guys will stay friends-even if she moves away!
