Blessed is the child
Who obeys God above,
Whose friends follow Jesus,
Whose heart’s full of love.

A child who tries hard
To think of things right,
Who remembers the truth
In the Bible, God’s light.

A child who is kind
And speaks gently to all
Will live with much joy
As he follows God’s call.

But an unkind young one,
Who refuses to learn,
Will feel sad and alone
And have nowhere to turn.

For God watches over
His children each day,
While those who don’t know Him
Will go their own way.
