Gather
- scissors
- white and colored card stock
- glass pie pan
- 2 cups water
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- plastic knife
- art chalk
- paper towels
- pencil
- glue stick
- cookie cutters
- ribbon
- jewels
Go
- Cut white card stock into quarters.
- Fill pie pan with water and vinegar.
- Use plastic knife to gently shave two or three different colors of chalk onto the surface of the water.
- Lay one piece of white card stock on the surface of the water and gently move it around until chalk sticks to paper.
- Remove paper before it gets too wet and lay it flat on a paper towel.
- For quick drying, ask an adult to place the marbled card stock between paper towels and iron it without steam.
- If you have more time, place marbled card stock between paper towels and place a heavy book on top. Let dry overnight.
- While your paper is drying, fold a piece of colored card stock in half. Cut to any size that is larger than your cookie cutters.
- Place a cookie cutter on top of dry marbled card stock and trace around cutter with a pencil.
- Cut out pattern and glue to your folded card.
- Decorate card with ribbon or jewels and write a message to Mom on the inside.
