Gather
- 2 cups original-flavor Goldfish crackers
- 2 cups pretzel sticks
- 2 cups wheat, rice or corn crisp cereal squares
- 1/2 cup peanuts (optional)
- 1/4 cup butter
- 6 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Go
- In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine crackers, pretzels, cereal and peanuts.
- In a medium-size microwave-safe bowl, combine butter, sugar, corn syrup and vanilla.
- Cover with paper towel and microwave butter mixture for one minute. Stir carefully; mixture will be hot.
- Microwave one more minute or until butter melts and mixture boils. Stir.
- Ask an adult to pour the butter mixture over the cracker mixture. Stir until evenly coated.
- Microwave on high for 2 minutes and stir. Microwave at medium power for 2 to 3 more minutes, stirring every 1 to 2 minutes. Be careful not to overcook.
- Spread mix on waxed paper to cool.
- Nibble on your fishy catch.
