A Stick for a Pet
from the Club Jr. Staff
- To keep a walking stick as a pet, make it a home in a glass aquarium or a tall jar with a lid. The home should be two-and-a-half times as tall as the insect is long. Make sure the lid has holes so your pet gets air to breathe.
- Fill the aquarium with twigs, plants and moss, along with a bowl of water.
- Give your walking stick fresh leaves to eat every day (rose, ivy or lettuce leaves work well). Keep the walking stick’s home clean, moist and out of direct sunlight.
- Have fun watching this quiet pet that is very good at hide-and-seek!
