A Stick for a Pet

  1. To keep a walking stick as a pet, make it a home in a glass aquarium or a tall jar with a lid. The home should be two-and-a-half times as tall as the insect is long. Make sure the lid has holes so your pet gets air to breathe.
  2. Fill the aquarium with twigs, plants and moss, along with a bowl of water.
  3. Give your walking stick fresh leaves to eat every day (rose, ivy or lettuce leaves work well). Keep the walking stick’s home clean, moist and out of direct sunlight.
  4. Have fun watching this quiet pet that is very good at hide-and-seek!
