"My name is Halle. I am also from Haiti. I am 9 years old and was adopted when I was 2. We live in Alaska in a very small bush community named Hoonah. I read the article in your magazine about Dee Dee and decided that I wanted to help Shoes to Share. I told the people in my church about Shoes to Share. My mom and I made signs and posted them on the bulletin boards around town. We put a box in the library for people to drop off shoes there. My mom announced where people could bring their shoes on the radio, because she has an hour show where she plays Christian music. We were not sure how many shoes we would get but we have 4 boxes of shoes that we will send for Shoes to Share. We hope and pray that people in Haiti will receive their new shoes and be blessed.

"Jada created flyers and handed them out to our neighborhood, asking them to leave shoes on their doorsteps for pick up. We collected 600 pairs of shoes (over 700 lbs). The local newspaper accompanied us as we collected the shoes and wrote an article. What a blessing this has been to our entire neighborhood. Thank you for the invitation to join in this beautiful way of blessing those in need. God used this opportunity to bless our family by blessing others."
