Ella, 8, Michigan

"We put up a sign at church with a box under it asking people to donate shoes. We also had a Tell-About-Jesus party and asked people to bring shoes. We put the shoes out on the driveway, and I counted over 100 pairs. When we thought we had everything boxed up to send to Shoes 2 Share, we found another bag of shoes in our garage. It was fun collecting the shoes and bringing them home. It was fun seeing the different kinds of shoes that would fit different people--grownups, kids and babies--and I knew we were helping people in Haiti."

Faith, 8

"After reading the story about Shoes 2 Share, I knew I wanted to collect shoes for Haiti. I started in my own closet, and my parents had a few pairs of shoes to add to my own outgrown collection. Then my mom helped me put an announcement in the church bulletin. I was amazed to find out that I had collected 79 pairs of shoes! It's exciting to think that one day soon some people in Haiti will be wearing these shoes."

Syanna, 6, Michigan

"First, Mom and I typed a letter explaining about the shoe drive, and I wrote my name on every one. Then we delivered the letters to my neighbors. The next week, we collected the shoes my neighbors had left out on their front porches for us. We collected 61 pairs of shoes, weighing about 75 pounds!"

Abigail, 6, Michigan

"I asked the people at my church to donate shoes for Haiti."

Beth, Ohio

"I went through my little brothers' closet and took all of the shoes that are too small for them so that the babies in Haiti can have shoes of their own. I think it is so sad that some kids do not have shoes and their parents do not, either. I had my dad send some of his work boots for the dads in Haiti, and my mom gave me some of her shoes, too. I hope that this helps the families in Haiti."
