Crispy Apple Surprise
Gather
  • 4 apples
  • 8 caramels, unwrapped
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons butter

Go
  1. Carefully cut each apple in half crosswise.
  2. Scoop out core with a spoon, but don't go through to the bottom.
  3. Press a caramel into the center of each apple.
  4. Place apples in a baking pan.
  5. In a medium bowl, pinch together flour, oats, sugar and butter. Top each apple with mixture.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees until tops are lightly brown.
  7. Let cool for 10 minutes and serve warm.
  8. For a cheesy variation, stuff apples with cheddar cheese instead of caramel.
