If I Were a Lion...
by Joan Stevenson
If I were a lion, I'd have a mighty roar.
If I were a monkey, I'd swing among the trees.
If I were a turtle, I'd burrow underground.
If I were a pelican, I'd trap fish in my bill.
If I were a camel, I'd drink and drink and drink.
If I were a parrot, I'd yakkity-yakkity-yak.
If I were a porpoise, I'd swim and sing a song.
If I were an ibis, I'd stand upon one leg.
If I were a grizzly bear, I'd sleep the winter through.
But God made me special, as He set me apart . . .
“So God created man in his own likeness. He created
him in the likeness of God. He created them as male
and female.” —Genesis 1:27
