Family Coat of Arms

Each noble family had its own special coat of arms. These designs were often put on the shields of knights in battle, sewn on castle flags or woven into clothing designs. Create your family's coat of arms by using colors or symbols that represent you.

Gather

  • piece of cardboard (pizza box, cereal box, etc.)
  • scissors
  • paint, markers, crayons and other decorations
  • tape or glue
Go
  1. Have an adult help you cut the cardboard into the shape of a shield.
  2. Divide your shield into sections.
  3. Decorate the different sections with paints, crayons and other designs that represent your family.
  4. When you are finished, take another strip of cardboard and tape it to the back of your shield for a handle.
