Even the Sparrows

Tweet! Tweet! The two baby mockingbirds in our rosebush were so cute! They were gray and puffy, and my sister and I wanted to take them inside as pets. We knew that the mama bird could do a better job raising them, so we just looked on reluctantly.

We checked on the birds regularly. One day when I walked up to the nest, one of the baby birds had flown away! I was kind of sad but also happy that it had grown up. I thought maybe it would come back and start its own family in our rosebush.

The next day we saw that the other baby bird had fallen out of its nest and gotten stuck in our rosebush! I was freaking out! How would he ever get back up to the nest? I wondered. The mama bird was sitting in the nest chirping, and I could hear the young one chirping back. He must be scared, I thought. Why did this happen to him now, when he is so close to growing up?

A few hours later I went back and the baby bird was in its nest again. Yay! I shouldn’t have worried because God takes care of the little things, like baby birds, as well as the big things.

Don’t think that your problems can ever be too small for God, because He will always care. He loves you! If you have a small problem and think it’s not worth asking God about, think of the baby birds.

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Matthew 10:29-31
