Johnny Grav Characters

Johnny Grav

Just after winning the gold medal in luge surfing at the 2074 Junior Olympics, Johnny Owen and his parents are the victims of a deadly railcar crash?a crash that kills both parents and leaves Johnny paralyzed from the waist down. The 12-year-old is about to give up hope when The Visioneer visits Johnny in the hospital and invites him to join Heroes LFC. She gives him her latest creation, an incredible suit that gives Johnny power over the force of gravity itself, and a new identity — Johnny Grav. Using this suit he no longer needs a wheelchair . . . because he can fly! The only weakness of this awesome suit is magnetic energy. But Johnny's greatest power isn't in his suit; it's in his disciplined and athletically creative mind.

Johnny's favorite food is a chili-tomato burger, with a big slice of cantaloupe on the side. His favorite hobby is beating Dana the Bug-Girl at the 3-D video game, Luge Heaven.

The Visioneer

This is Marta Kelley, age 13, better known as The Visioneer. She's the daughter of billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Dr. Lassiter Kelley. As a mechanical and theoretical genius, Marta is responsible for inventing most of the fantastic technology that powers the superhero team. She's also the one who shoulders the main responsibility for recruiting and training the members of Heroes LFC.

In some of her earliest experiments, Marta created the powers of The Visioneer goggles?wonderful shades that give her almost super-vision. Next she added a variety of gadgets and gizmos. Watching her experiments unfold, her father dubbed her a "visioneer." She liked that so much she took it as her superhero name. Still, Marta Kelley's greatest asset is not her bag of tricks, but as she puts it, her ability to "see God's potential in people." Marta has been a follower of Christ since she was 3 years old, when her dad took her to a vacation Bible school at a nearby church.

The Visioneer's favorite food is taboli. And her favorite hobby is to visit the antiques section of the library where she can read old books that were printed on paper.

Dana the Bug-Girl

This is Dana the Bug-Girl. She wears a powerful suit that gives her the strength and abilities of several bugs from the insect world. Dana is 11 years old, and has been a follower of Christ since her 7th birthday when her dad shared with her from a children's Bible about the story of Jesus. On her 10th birthday, Dana received a super-charged Bug-Girl suit from her mom! After a few modifications by The Visioneer in the Heroes LFC laboratories, Dana's powers were complete. Dana's ladybug shell and hood provide a bulletproof shield. Her fly-eye goggles allow her to see several directions at once. Inside her ladybug shell is a hover pod, which allows her to fly short distances?almost as if she is leaping a mile or two at a time.

Dana's favorite food is chocolate-covered grasshoppers. Her hobbies are playing 3-D video games and watching cartoons from the 1970s.

Lucky Lasso

Lucky Lasso's real name is Howard Redfeather. He grew up on the plains of Oklahoma. His parents own a large ranch west of Tahlequah, and it's there that Lucky learned all the special skills of a cowboy. When he was only 6 years old, he was tossed off a wild horse and managed to land on his feet. It was then his mother dubbed him "the luckiest little cowboy in the world"?and the name stuck. Soon after, Lucky began studying in earnest with the older ranch hands, until he quickly became the best wrangler on the ranch. Remembering his near miss with the wild horse, he also immersed himself in the study of acrobatics.

Lucky's cowboy skills?he won five successive Junior Rodeo championships?and acrobatic ability make him one of the most agile members of Heroes LFC. His big weaknesses, however, are his own ego and immaturity. He truly believes he is the greatest hero in all of Heroes LFC, and can't understand why the other heroes?especially The Visioneer — don't agree with him.

Lucky is 13 years old. His favorite food is synthetic turkey-beef jerky. His favorite sport is 20th century American Football (which is still very popular in the year 2074!). And his favorite hobby is roping footballs as they're passed through the air?something he likes to do blindfolded!

Tinker the Robo-Dog

Tinker the Robo-Dog was the brainchild of Dr. Lassiter Kelley. Dr. Kelley sketched out the rough blueprints for a robotic dog while daydreaming one day in his office. He later showed his drawings to Marta, his daughter, and she took over from there. Improving on her dad's basic design and circuitry, The Visioneer added flying technology, visual communications links and a host of interior tools that make Tinker the Robo-Dog a superhero in his own right. Tinker is extremely loyal (and protective) of his two creators, Dr. Lassiter Kelley and The Visioneer. He also seems to have a penchant for having fun.

Professor Twilight

Evil genius who wants to literally block out the sun so he can rule the world in darkness. He hates the Bible and is the leader of the Darkness Brigade.
