MPAA Rating:PG
The bluegrass hills of Kentucky are the setting for this
warm, family film. The Crane family, already down on
their luck, find themselves at an even greater loss when
dad, Ben Crane, loses his job as a racehorse trainer.
When Sonador, one of the horses he trained,
breaks her leg during a race, Ben agrees to take the
injured horse home to his own rundown farm.
On the farm, Ben's 10-year-old daughter, Cale, falls in
love with Sonador, which means dreamer, and
begins to train her to race again. While Cale’s father is
doubtful Sonador will ever race again, he agrees
to help Cale doctor the mare. It’s a tough job, but the
hard work pays off.
Dreamer shows how important it is to hold onto
dreams and work for them. The film also shows the
importance of family. Strong characters, good morals
and hard work make Dreamer a film the whole
family can enjoy and learn from.
