Facing the Giants

MPAA Rating:PG
Distributor:Provident Films
Director:Alex Kendrick
Starring:Alex Kendrick as Coach Grant Taylor, Shannen Fields as Brooke Taylor, Tracy Goode as Brady Owens and Bailey Cave as David Childers.

Coach Grant Taylor has not had a winning season in the six years he's been the football coach at Shiloh Christian Academy. So, when a star running back transfers to a cross-town rival, it's almost guaranteed that the upcoming season will be the same as all the others. That makes some of the team boosters unhappy, and they go behind the coach's back, pressuring the school to have Coach Taylor fired. That's just the first trial the team has to face. The second is the post-season game against the state's most feared team, the undefeated Giants.

With no inappropriate adult content, no bad language and no drug or alcohol references, the only thing that may have given this film a PG rating is the sometimes- violent action on the football field.

But Facing the Giants is more than a simple David-and-Goliath story. This film tells the story of faith in the face of trials and the need to exchange our priorities for God's. After Coach Taylor has an idea about how he should change the way he runs his program, he tells his team, "Our goal is not to win games; it's to honor God." So get to the theater and get in the game!
