MPAA Rating:G
Lewis is not exactly an adoptive parent's dream come
true. After 124 interviews with prospective parents, 12-
year-old Lewis still does not have a family. He decides
that the only way to get one is to invent a brain scanner
that will help him remember his birth mother. The
scanner is stolen by Bowler Hat Guy and his creepy
sidekick, Doris. Enter Wilbur Robinson, a boy from the
future who unexpectedly arrives to help Lewis recover
his invention—and to save the future of humankind
while they're at it. Lewis also discovers that he's a
perfect fit with Wilbur's eccentric family, the Robinsons,
who embrace the brainy boy as one of their own.
Meet The Robinsons is an excellent tribute to
diligence and belonging. Unfortunately, the film has a
touch of crude humor, implied profanity, rude name-
calling and a scene of dark imagery thrown in. While
the good themes and fun spirit of the movie outweigh
the bad stuff, it might be a good idea for younger
Clubhouse readers to wait for future films with better
messages.
