Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
As we hit the ice again, mammoths Manny and Ellie are expecting their first baby. Manny tries to baby-proof nature, while his buddies Sid the sloth and Diego the saber-toothed tiger face their own troubles. Diego fears he should leave the herd, and the goofy Sid seeks a family of his own. He finds three dinosaur eggs and decides to adopt them.
But when the real mother shows up to retrieve her missing eggs, Sid gets caught in her mouth. Manny and his crew end up in a prehistoric, underground world as they look for their missing pal. But who can help them through this strange and dangerous land of the lost? Only one creature: a slightly crazy weasel named Buck.
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs includes several scenes where characters fight for their lives or have close calls with catastrophe. Characters use a couple of crude words and some potty humor gags.
Scrat the squirrel is wowed by the batting eyes and swaying hips of a female squirrel, and they become a kissing couple. But as Manny might put it, there’s plenty here to trumpet. The high-energy journey sometimes slows long enough to remind viewers of the importance and rewards of family, selflessness and teamwork.
