Matthew Parker's Decoder #2010-2

Did you find the secret message in the February 2010 issue of Focus on the Family Clubhouse magazine? If not here it is again:

- - •    - - -   - • •         • •   • • •

• -   • - -   •   • • •   - - -   - -   •.

Decode this message by substituting the proper letter for the above symbols.

How It Works:
This code is famous and is called Morse code. To decode it, just match the dots and dashes with the letter they represent.

O          D         Y       S          S           E          Y
- - -   - • •    - •  - -    • • •      • • •      •        - •  - -

Coolness!
Samuel Morse created this code nearly 200 years ago to send messages across an electric telegraph. When tapped or flashed with a flashlight, dots are short bursts (called "dits") and dashes are long holds (called "dahs"). One dah equals the length of three dits.

Look for another decoder next month!
