I am a pastor's son, and I get teased because of it. Please help. Zach, 11 Minnesota |

Many Christians are mocked and teased because of their faith in Jesus Christ. Since your dad is a follower of Christ and you are his son, people will say bad things. That’s a tough situation, but you are not without hope. If you haven’t already, talk to your dad and explain that it’s really hard for you to deal with the kids who tease you. Your dad may not have an answer, but talking about your feelings will help. Then try to surround yourself with Christian friends who understand what your dad does and why. Find people you can trust at youth group or in a Bible study. They’ll be able to encourage you and help you get through hard times. The teasing may not stop anytime soon, but if you can talk with your parents and friends about the situation, then you’ll find strength to stand firm. Jesus knows what it feels like to be teased. He said in Mark 13:13, “All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.” |
