| Q. |
My friend is a Christian, but she wants me to lie about something we did. What should I do? Paige, 10 Ohio |
| A. | It's obvious from your letter that you don't think you should lie. And you're right! The Bible is clear--lying is wrong. Proverbs 12:22 says, "The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in men who are truthful." Sometimes telling the truth can hurt, and you'll have to suffer the consequences of your actions. But lies tend to grow if you hide them. Lies also tend to be found out. You may experience a little pain now, but you'll save a lot of hurt in the future by always telling the truth. |
