Questions & Answers

Q. I am going on a plane trip to visit my grandma, but I'm afraid we will crash. I need help. Could you give me some suggestions?

A. You’ve probably heard that the chances of being involved in a plane crash are very low. Statistically, you would have to fly in an airplane 24 hours a day for 438 years to be involved in a crash. Still, that’s not a lot of comfort when you’re 30,000 feet in the air.

Remember Jesus is with you. And because He’s the one in control of your life, you don’t need to be afraid. Pray for His protection. If you have a CD player, listening to Christian music might help to keep you calm while you travel. You can even write down some verses about God’s protection to carry with you. One good verse is Psalm 32:7: "You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance." Just knowing the Creator of the universe is the pilot of your life, should give you peace when you fly.
