Questions & Answers

Q. My brother is turning 11 soon, and he’s still not saved. I’ve talked to him and told him how important it is to get saved, but he doesn’t want to. I want to pray for him, but I don’t know the right kind of words to use.
Jessica, 12

A. You want your brother to accept Christ, but do you know there’s someone else who wants it even more? God wants every person to accept His gift of salvation. And He loves your brother more than anyone.

God hears your prayers, and He knows your heart. The exact words you use when you pray for your brother aren’t important, but there are some specific things you can ask for. Pray that your brother will recognize that he is a sinner. You can also pray that he will realize his need to trust Jesus for salvation. Accepting Christ is a big decision. Pray that God would give your brother the courage to make this commitment.

Keep talking to your brother about the Lord, and be a good example. Romans 12:12 says to be "faithful in prayer." Keep praying and as you do, God will work in your brother’s life.
