| Q. |
When I play soccer, my dad always puts pressure on me. I feel like I'm not good enough. What should I do? Sarah, 10 Tennessee |
| A. |
Pressure to play like a pro can take the fun away from any sport. But God thinks you’re super special no matter how well you play soccer. Even if you never compete like Mia Hamm, you will always be just right in God’s eyes. Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works." Try talking to your dad. Tell him how you feel. Parents want to see their kids do their best, and your dad is no exception. But he may not realize that his comments are making you feel pressured. If you continue to feel unhealthy pressure from your dad and you’re not having fun anymore, you may want to consider talking to your parents about trying something new. |
