| Q. |
I love Star Wars a lot, but my parents think that I am thinking more about Star Wars than about God. What should I do? Timothy, 12 Virginia |

Sounds like you have some serious stars in your eyes! It’s good to have interests, but there is such a thing as loving something too much—especially if you’re putting it before God. The Bible’s pretty clear about idolatry. The first commandment is: "You shall have no other gods before me" (Exodus 20:3). You may not feel like you’re worshiping Star Wars, but if it’s become more important to you than God, you may be dealing with an idol. If that’s the case, ask God to forgive you for allowing something else to come first in your life. Then try controlling your Star Wars craze by concentrating on other interests and activities. And make sure you’re reading your Bible and spending time with God every day! |
