| Q. |
I like horses a lot, but my parents can’t afford one. I get upset about it more than I should. Any advice?

King David from the Bible had difficulty controlling his emotions, too. But in Psalm 37:8, he wrote, "Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil." You may have realized getting upset doesn’t help. It might even make things worse, because it upsets your parents. They’d probably love to get you a horse. But money is a problem for a lot of families, and Mom and Dad have to make tough decisions. Understanding their situation may make you feel better. Have you thought of other ways to be around horses? Maybe you could get a job or volunteer at a horse ranch. Some places will trade work for lessons. Then you could still care for and be around the animals you love! |
