Questions & Answers

Q. My mom has been home schooling me for two years now, but I don't really like it. Mom says God told her to teach me at home, and she's just obeying Him. I don't want to be mad at God or my mom. What can I do to make things better?

A. The best way to forget that you don't like your schoolbooks is to concentrate on the best book ever--the Bible. God's Word tells us that we should always obey our parents, even when we don't understand their request.

The Bible also tells us that God wants us to do all things without grumbling. So look for things to love about home school, like going on vacation without having to make up homework.

Talk to your mom about the two worst things about home school. Together maybe you can work out some of the problems. For example, if you want to see more friends, plan to join a sports team.

Be patient. Remember that God -- and your mom -- love you very much and want the best for you.
