| Q. |
A kid in my class gets treated like an angel and acts perfect. That really bugs me. What should I do? John, 8 Massachusetts |
| A. |
Have you ever heard the phrase "nobody’s perfect"? Well, it’s true. Maybe that’s why it’s so annoying when somebody acts like he is. The truth is, this kid is no more perfect than you. When you feel irritated, focus on yourself instead of him. Are you doing the right thing? Does your behavior mirror the only person who lived a perfect life: Jesus Christ? If you worry about your own actions, you’ll be less bothered by his. Hebrews 10:14 says: "By one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy." You may not be perfect now, but next time you get annoyed by your classmate, smile and remember that someday—with Christ’s help—you will be. |
