Questions & Answers

Q. In school I was taught that dinosaurs were the first living things on Earth. But in the Bible it says that Adam and Eve were first. Which is true?

A. It’s great that you’re questioning what you learn in school. Actually, Adam and Eve weren’t the first living things on earth. They were the first humans God created.

In Genesis 1 it says God created animals first. He created birds and fish on the fifth day, and on the sixth day He created “wild animals . . . livestock . . . and all the creatures that move along the ground.” Later that same day, He created Adam and Eve.

The Bible is clear: God created the world and everything in it. You can trust the biblical account of creation--even if you hear things at school that don’t match up. Always compare what you’re learning to the truth of God’s Word. And never be afraid to question what you hear or stand up for what you believe.
