Tea Time
Gather
  • a small sheet of paper or pastel construction paper
  • a clean lid from a large jar (Lid must be able to set on top of a coffee mug.)
  • crayons and markers
  • scissors
  • transparent tape
  • a coffee mug or tea cup with saucer
  • fresh leaves and flowers
  • hot coffee or hot tea
  • vanilla extract
  • sugar
  • cream or milk
Go
  1. Using a crayon, trace a circle around the lid onto the paper. Cut out the circle.
  2. Write “Mom is tops!” in the center and decorate the edges.
  3. Roll a piece of transparent tape into a circle and use it to attach the paper to the lid.
  4. Have an adult help make coffee or tea.
  5. Place the leaves and flowers around the mug.
  6. Pour the coffee or tea into the cup.
  7. If serving coffee, put 2 small drops of vanilla in the coffee mug for flavor.
  8. Place the decorated lid on top of the cup and have sugar and cream available for your mom.
  9. Serve Mom her drink with a smile.
