Shortbread Cookies
Gather
  • 1 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cups sifted flour
Go
  1. Blend sugar and butter with an electric mixer.
  2. Blend in flour, and knead mixture until smooth.
  3. Place dough between two sheets of plastic wrap, and roll out to 1/2-inch thickness.
  4. Place on cookie sheet and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  5. Cut dough with metal cookie cutters.
  6. Place cookies on ungreased cookie sheet or baking stone.
  7. Prick each cookie with a fork, and bake them for 15 to 20 minutes at 350° F.
  8. Watch carefully—they burn easily!
