Shortbread Cookies
Gather
- 1 cup butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 cups sifted flour

Go
- Blend sugar and butter with an electric mixer.
- Blend in flour, and knead mixture until smooth.
- Place dough between two sheets of plastic wrap, and roll out
to 1/2-inch thickness.
- Place on cookie sheet and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Cut dough with metal cookie cutters.
- Place cookies on ungreased cookie sheet or baking stone.
- Prick each cookie with a fork, and bake them for 15 to 20
minutes at 350° F.
- Watch carefully—they burn easily!
