Toasty Oat Bars
Gain a boost of energy with this healthy snack.
Gather
- 3 1/2 cups regular oatmeal
- 1 cup sunflower seeds
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 2/3 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup honey or molasses
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Go
- To toast oats, spread oatmeal on a cookie sheet or
large baking pan. Bake at 350° F for 12 to 15 minutes
or until lightly browned. Stir occasionally. Remove oats
from oven and allow to cool.
- Mix all ingredients in a large bowl using a wooden
spoon.
- Press the mixture in a well-greased 9-by-13-inch
pan.
Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.
- . Cool pan on a wire rack. Cut bars when cool.
- Substitute different kinds of chips, nuts or raisins to
discover your favorite flavor!
