Toasty Oat Bars
Gain a boost of energy with this healthy snack.
Gather
  • 3 1/2 cups regular oatmeal
  • 1 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 2/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup honey or molasses
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Go
  1. To toast oats, spread oatmeal on a cookie sheet or large baking pan. Bake at 350° F for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Stir occasionally. Remove oats from oven and allow to cool.
  2. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl using a wooden spoon.
  3. Press the mixture in a well-greased 9-by-13-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.

  4. . Cool pan on a wire rack. Cut bars when cool.
  5. Substitute different kinds of chips, nuts or raisins to discover your favorite flavor!
