With players such as Alonzo Mourning, Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan on the roster of Dream Team III, Vin Baker may not be the most recognizable name on the U.S. basketball squad heading to Sydney. But as a four-time all-star from the Seattle Sonics, Vin has put together quite an NBA career, averaging nearly 18 points and 9 rebounds a game.
"I give all the credit to God," this 6-foot-11-inch, 250-pound power forward says about his basketball success.
As the son of a Baptist minister, Vin grew up going to church and singing in the church choir.
"My father never put pressure on me about religion," Vin remembers. "Going to church was something I enjoyed, it became part of my life. My parents instilled in me the importance of knowing God."
