God in NYC

Last summer I went on a wonderful trip to New York City with my family. Our first day we went to Central Park, Times Square, FAO Schwarz, Little Italy and Chinatown. To get back to our hotel, we had to take the subway. We all swiped our Metro cards to get onto the platform and wait for the train. But my younger brother had trouble with his, so my dad went to help just as the train arrived. Someone said, “Hurry, get on!” So I jumped on the train, and the doors shut with my family still standing on the platform. My aunt, mom and dad tried with all their might to get the doors open, but they wouldn’t budge!

Fortunately earlier in the day we had talked about what to do in case we got separated on the subway. We were supposed to get off at the next stop and wait by the ticket booth. I was still very scared! I prayed that I would be all right, and God answered my prayers. A young lady said she’d get off the train at the next station and wait with me for my parents. It seemed like hours, but really it was only minutes when my parents came. I was so happy to see them! God sure took care of me.
