Breaking Through

A little more than a year ago, I woke up to a deafening crash. A bottle had been thrown through our front window, breaking the television and VCR. We called the police, but they couldn’t find any fingerprints. After praying and thanking God that nobody was hurt, I fell asleep.

Two weeks later, I woke up to the same sound. A rock had been thrown through our other living room window. We called the police again. A few days later, I came home from school and found all my house’s windows boarded up, except for my bedroom. I asked God why He had let people do this to our house, but I didn’t get any answers.

Two months later at about 12:30 a.m., a bottle was thrown through my bedroom window. I woke up and called my mother. My dad phoned the police, and I had to make a statement at the police office.

We still don’t know who has been throwing things through our windows, but I thank God every day for keeping me and my family safe during these rough times. And I’ve learned that God watches out for us and loves us very much.
