Last year in the middle of July, our house caught on fire. The fire started at about 1:30 a.m. My dad had gone downstairs to watch TV and had fallen asleep. The sound of our smoke alarms woke him up. He looked out the window and saw orange flames.
When I heard him waking up my brothers, I screamed because I didn’t know what to do. Then I heard a huge explosion, and I was really scared. Two gas cans sitting on the back porch caused the explosion. My family and I quickly got out of our house. Then we went to our neighbors’ house and told them to call 911.
We waited for the firefighters to come. It took about 15 fire engines to put out the fire. I consider my dad a real hero. God’s angels were protecting us. We had lots of family and friends that helped us after the fire.
