Praying Through a Storm

When I was 5 years old, my family and I went camping by a lake. We had just arrived when a big wind came up. Rain started falling, so we all ran to the tent in the woods, just up from the beach.

We could see big waves on the lake, where we had seen lots of boats earlier. We felt like we were going to fly away because the wind was so strong. My father put all our camping stuff away so it wouldn't get wet, and then he tied the tent to the trees so it wouldn't blow over.

When my father came into the tent, I suggested that we pray for the people on the lake because of the big waves and strong wind. We prayed, and my father asked God to protect the people caught in the storm and also speak to them so they could know Him.

One year later, a new couple came to our church. The lady gave her testimony just before getting baptized. She said that a year earlier she was on a boat and sunddenly a big storm came up. They tried to get back to shore, but it was very difficult and they were scared. When they arrived safely, she realized God had protected them. She asked her husband for some books about God, she read them and got saved! When she mentioned the date, my parents looked at each other in amazement because it was the same day as the storm on our camping trip. God really answered my prayer!
