We are missionaries to France. We arrived here in 1999. In September of that year, our dad was hit head on by a drunk driver. He had many broken bones, internal bleeding and cuts on his head and face. He had to have several operations and was in two different hospitals for nearly two months.

Lucien, the man who hit him, was in the same hospital. He had a broken leg. About a month after the accident, he and our dad were in physical therapy together. Lucien asked Dad to forgive him. Our dad accepted his apology and told him of Jesus’ love for him. A few days later, Lucien accepted Christ as his Savior.

It would have been easy for Dad to hold a grudge against the man who almost killed him. Lucien made a bad decision by drinking, and he made an even worse decision by driving while drunk. Our dad told us that the truth was the first time he saw Lucien, he felt like punching him. But our dad forgave him. And for that reason, this man got saved!
