Crash at Prisoner's Base

Last April I had a bad accident. Here is what happened.

"Go! Go," everyone yelled. I ran my fastest, and I am a pretty fast runner for my class. Bob (who was on my team) was running really fast, too. He’s the best athlete in our class. We were playing "Prisoner’s Base," and Andrew was the last person on his team. Bob and I were both trying to catch him. Just as we were about to catch him, Andrew moved out of the way.

Boom!!! Bob and I crashed into each other really hard. I flew through the air. When I hit the ground, my chest and leg hurt. I thought I was okay. I tried to stand up, but I couldn’t because my leg hurt too much. Pretty soon my mom picked me up in the van.

When we got to the doctor’s office, they took X-rays and found out my leg was broken! They had to bend back my foot when they put the cast on and it hurt.

For the first few days, I kept asking myself, "Why did this have to happen to me?!?"

I didn’t know how I was going to get through it. But God helped me. After 10 weeks I got the cast off. The doctors gave me some exercises to do. Today, I’m able to run and participate in physical education class. My leg feels as strong as the other one.

I’m glad God takes care of us!
