When you're a follower of Jesus Christ, you're on the greatest team of all time. With God as your Coach, you can overcome any obstacle and defeat any opponent. Get in the game by taking Clubhouse magazine's summer challenge to work on your offense, defense and teamwork. Even if you don't like sports, this training will strengthen your walk with Christ.

Offense—impact the world for Christ. 

For the next 10 weeks, look for people to serve. Maybe a neighbor needs help pulling weeds. Perhaps an older person needs help walking his dog. Serve somewhere in your community for one hour per week.

Defense—guard your heart by memorizing God's Word. 

Pick out a passage in the Bible that's at least 10 verses long and memorize it. Then tell us why you chose those verses and what you learned. Check out these examples from the Old and New Testament to get you started: 

• Psalm 119:1-11

• John 1:1-12.

Teamwork—help your teammates.

In January, children in Haiti suffered tremendous loss during an earthquake. They need help rebuilding their lives. Compassion International has worked with children in Haiti for more than 40 years. Save your allowance or earn extra money by running a lemonade stand, taking care of neighbors' pets when they're on vacation or doing extra yard work. Have a parent donate that money to children in Haiti at compassion.com/clubhouse. 

It doesn't have to be a lot—any amount will help!

Have a parent write: "Focus/Compassion Haiti" on the memo line of the check.

In August when you complete the challenge, send:

• a list of whom you served and what you did. Make sure it adds up to 10 hours of service!

• the passage from the Bible that you memorized. Include a 100-word story to explain why you chose this passage and what you learned.

• an explanation of how you earned money and how much you sent to the children of Haiti.

• a photo of you doing some part of the challenge.
