Looking Up

If you take the time
To stare above the trees,
You’ll see the clouds are dancing,
Just swaying in the breeze.

Everyday is different;
The sky must have moods, too.
With dark gray frowns and swelling mist,
Or puffs in shades of blue.

The sky tells us a story,
With lightning and with hailing,
With pitter-pat of soft raindrops,
Or frozen snowflakes sailing.

At night the sky is beautiful
With stars like peeping eyes;
Watching, watching, with a blink
The steady, slow moonrise.

And when the sun rolls over,
A thousand glowing stains appear
Of where it touched the birds and lakes
And quiet, gentle deer.

So take the time to notice,
To stop and see the hint
That God made all of this for you
And left His fingerprint.
