How do I get involved?

Starting on June 1 and continuing until August 31, keep track of all your exercise. Every activity earns you points. Accumulate 260 or more points during the summer, and you win a prize.

Can I earn points walking the dog?

Yes. You can pick up points riding your bike, playing soccer or doing almost any activity.

Do I get points walking from my room to the kitchen to eat breakfast?

Nope. But nice try.
Activities are separated into three levels. Level 1 exercise earns one point for every 30 minutes. For Level 2 activities, give yourself one point for every 15 minutes. Level 3 is the toughest, so tally one point for every 10 minutes. If you can’t find your exercise on the list, ask a parent to decide how many points you should earn.

Can I earn 24 points by swimming for four hours in one day?

Sorry. Doing a lot one day and nothing the rest of the week isn’t a great idea. So the maximum number of points you can earn in one day is eight.
To get 260 points by the end of summer, you need to average five points a day, four days a week.

Can I get bonus points?

Yes. If you exercise with a friend, a brother, a sister or a parent, you earn one extra point. So playing one hour of table tennis against your dad picks up three points (1 point per 30 minutes, plus 1 extra point for exercising together).

When do I get my prize?

Clubhouse will send prizes to everybody who completes an exercise log and mails it by September 10, 2012. Mark down on a piece of paper the date you exercised, what you did, how long you did it and how many points you earned (click here to download the exercise log). Send your completed log to: “Clubhouse Olympic Challenge,” Colorado Springs, CO 80995-7460. In Canada, send it to Focus on the Family, 19946 80A Ave., Langley, BC V2Y 0J8. (Be sure to include your full name, birth date, address and a photo of you exercising.) Prizes will be sent in October.
